A busy Thunder Bay street will be shut down for more than a month due to underground construction work.
A section of Neebing Avenue was closed Tuesday, forcing some residents in the area to take alternate routes to get to and from their homes.
The street has been closed between Gore and Walsh Streets. The entire area will remain blocked off until early October, unless work is completed ahead of schedule.
The closure is being done to allow for a watermain construction project and new paving of Neebing Avenue.
The intersections at Gore Street, Walsh Street, Rosslyn Road and Broadway Avenue will remain open as detour routes. And there will be local access to the area from Mary Street, Francis Street and Frederica Street.
