THUNDER BAY – Motorists on the south side of the city should take note – a section of Walsh Street is slated to close on Sunday.

The temporary shutdown was necessitated by the need to replace a fire hydrant and water valve in the area.

The road is scheduled to close starting at 8 a.m. on Sunday and is expected to reopen about 12 hours later.

The closure will take place between Neebing Avenue and Commerce Street, with an alternative route available on Mary Street.

The city advises motorists to exercise caution in the area and to expect delays.
