THUNDER BAY – Seven people are under arrest after police seized drugs and a handgun while executing recent search warrants.
The raids occurred in the evening of Feb. 25 at residences on Windsor Street and Picton Avenue. The warrants were obtained during an investigation into suspected drug trafficking activity.
Searches of both residences resulted in the seizure of suspected cocaine and fentanyl, along with cash and paraphernalia consisted with drug trafficking.
A handgun was seized from one of the locations.
A 24-year-old male from North York, a 53-year-old male from Thunder Bay, a 28-year-old male from North York and a 22-year-old male from North York were charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking in cocaine; possession for the purpose of trafficking fentanyl; possession of proceeds of crime under $5,000; careless storage of a firearm; unauthorized possession of a firearm and knowledge of possession of unauthorized firearm.
The 22-year old was also charged with breach of a release order and breach of an undertaking.
A 19-year-old male from North York and a 44-year-female from Thunder Bay were charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking cocaine; possession for the purpose of trafficking fentanyl and possession of proceeds of crime under $5,000. The Thunder Bay woman was also charged with breach of release order.
All seven accused have been remanded into custody following court appearances on Wednesday.
