THUNDER BAY – If you’ve got relatives coming to Thunder Bay for a post-Christmas visit or have an escape of your own planned, it’s a good idea to check ahead with your airline before heading to the airport.

A pair of regional carriers on Monday cancelled several flights, the aftermath of the winter weather that hit the city.

Bearskin Airlines has cancelled six departing flights out of Thunder Bay International Airport, while Wasaya Airlines has nixed a trio of departures.

WestJet cancelled it’s 11:45 a.m. flight to Toronto. Porter Airlines and Air Canada are reporting most flights leaving the city to be on time.

Things are more hectic on the arrivals board.

Bearskin Airlines has cancelled its first 10 flights of the day, up to and including its 7:55 p.m. flight from Sault Ste. Marie.

WestJet has cancelled a pair of morning arrivals, one from Toronto and one from Winnipeg. All other arrivals are reported as being on time, with the exception of one Air Canada flight, which is delayed 15 minutes.
