FORT WILLIAM FIRST NATION – Some residents in the 600 and 700 block of Mountain Road are being advised to boil their water for the next several days.

According to a release issue by Fort William First Nation, the advisory was made necessary due to a mainline break that had disrupted the water supply on Mountain Road.

A total of 11 houses are affected – 668, 691, 693, 696, 697, 700, 701, 702, 703, 704, and 706 Mountain Road.

Residents living at the affected addresses are advised to bring water to a rolling boil for at least one minute if being used for drinking, cooking, making juice, drinks or infant formula, brushing teeth or cleaning dental appliances.

It’s also advised to sponge bathe infants and toddlers.

First Nation officials say the boil-water advisory will remain in effect for two or three days and that people should continue to boil their water until an official notice is posted.
