THUNDER BAY — Environment Canada has issued a severe thunderstorm watch for the city and surrounding areas.
The advisory was issued Friday afternoon, warning that conditions are favourable for thunderstorms to develop that could cause strong winds, large hail and heavy rain.
The advisory covers an area spanning from just east of Fort Frances, up to the far north, and as far east as Nipigon and portions of Greenstone.
The thunderstorm risk is expected to lessen in the evening.
