THUNDER BAY — A severe thunderstorm watch that had been in effect for the city has been lifted.
Environment Canada had initially issued the advisory Friday as a severe thunderstorm watch, cautioning that isolated severe thunderstorms are possible early the day.
It was briefly upgraded to a severe thunderstorm warning later in the morning, as Environment Canada tracked a storm west of the city.
The advisory said the storms may be capable of producing nickel to quarter-sized hail.
The forecast also shows a risk of thunderstorms into the evening.
