THUNDER BAY - A severe thunderstorm watch is in effect for portions of northwest Ontario.
Environment Canada issued a severe thunderstorm watch Friday afternoon, saying conditions are favourable for the development of dangerous weather.
Severe thunderstorms can produce strong wind gusts and hail two to four centimetres in diameter.
Conditions could produce severe thunderstorms later Friday evening.
People are advised to monitor conditions. Severe thunderstorms can produce torrential rainfall, damaging winds, and large hail can result in damage to property and serious injury.
