Shewchuk leads by 5 at Teleco District Amateur

THUNDER BAY – Brett Shewchuk has a commanding five-shot lead entering Monday’s final round at the Teleco District Amateur.

Shewchuk shot a sizzling 5-under 67 on Sunday at Strathcona Golf Course for a two day total of 137, after opening Saturday at Chapples Golf Course with a 70.

Nathaniel Mouslon, playing in the second flight, is five back with a 142 total.

Jeremy Kirk, who shot an even par 72 on Sunday, is six shots back in third, while Peter Lovis is two shots further back at 145, tied with two-time defending District Amateur champion Colin Sobey and Dallas Burgess, playing out of the third flight.

Shewchuk is seeking his third District Amateur title.
