Shooting at McIvor Court: police

No one has reported injuries following gunfire at the south-end apartment building, say police.

Police were outside of McIvor Court on Saturday just before 2 p.m.

THUNDER BAY -- No injuries were reported following a shooting incident on Saturday morning.

Police provided an update on what they earlier in the day called a serious incident at McIvor Court.

Thunder Bay Police Service officers with the primary response branch were dispatched to the 1000 block of Lincoln Street at around 6:30 a.m. on Saturday, a release issued by TBPS said.

Officers received reports of a firearm having been discharged. 

Responding officers secured the area. There were no reported injuries.

A police presence will remain in the area and the investigation is ongoing with members of the TBPS major crimes unit and forensic identification unit involved. 

Police say no further information is available, but updates will be provided when they become available.
