Shooting incident sends one person to hospital

Thunder Bay Police are investigating an incident on Picton Avenue which happened Saturday morning

THUNDER BAY -- One individual was hurt in a reported shooting incident on Thunder Bay's north side early Saturday.

The victim's injuries are considered non-life-threatening, according to police.

Officers were sent to the 100 block of Picton Avenue at about 1:40 a.m. August 3 after reports were received of gunshots in the vicinity.

Paramedics took the injured person to hospital.

The TBPS major crimes unit and forensic identification unit are involved in the ongoing investigation.

Police said they may maintain a presence in the area for an unspecified period.
