THUNDER BAY – Fans and volunteers attending the 2025 Scotties Tournament of Hearts will be able to take advantage of a shuttle service to get to and from Fort William Gardens.

Details are still being worked out, but Curling Canada and the host organizing committee plans to offer the service before and after each draw.

“With pick-ups from surrounding hotels and local park-and-ride locations," said Rick Lang, a vice chair with the national women’s curling championship, "there is no need to worry about parking at the Gardens.”

The shuttle is expected to include stops at local hotels hosting visitors in Thunder Bay for the event, which runs from Feb. 14 to Feb. 23, and a park-and-ride service from the Canadian Lakehead Exhibition. It will run for at least one hour prior to the draws starting and one hour after they end.

The shuttle service will be free of charge, Lang said, noting it will be provided through funding from the Community Economic Development Commission and the city’s event development grant.

Organizers added they are also making accommodations for accessible seating at the Gardens, which will see the construction of a special viewing area that promises an up-close, front-row experience.

"The local committee, in conjunction with Curling Canada, are working hard to ensure a wonderful experience for those with mobility issues,” said committee vice-chair Diane Imrie, in a release issued late last week.

Seating will be limited and available solely by contact the Fort William Gardens Box office, either in person or by phoning 807-625-2929.

Limited volunteer opportunities are also still available in the Original 16 Patch, or to help the ice crew.

The deadline to volunteer is Nov. 20.

Tickets for the Scotties are still available, including single-draw tickets and limited championship weekend tickets.
