PIKANGIKUM FIRST NATION -- The Ontario Provincial Police have turned a case over to the province's Special Investigations Unit after a man was injured in the custody of officers in Pikangikum First Nation.
Police, in a release issued on Wednesday, said on Oct. 18 their officers made a routine traffic stop on Dump Road in the remote, northern community. A subsequent investigation led to the arrest of the unnamed male driver.
During the arrest, an interaction between officers and the driver took place, the driver suffering an injury. He was transported for medical treatments.
