THUNDER BAY – Ontario’s Special Investigations Unit is looking for witnesses to an interaction that Thunder Bay Police Service officers had with a 50-year-old man on Tuesday at around 12:20 p.m.
That’s when plain clothed Thunder Bay Police Service officers attempted to arrest the man, who was wanted on several warrants, the SIU said by email.
He fled on foot and the officers chased him. There was an interaction involving the man and police. The officers arrested him and handcuffed him near 122 Cumberland St. S.
The man was taken to the police station and subsequently to the hospital, where he was diagnosed with a serious injury. He remains in hospital.
