KENORA, Ont. -- An altercation at the Kenora District Jail when a prisoner was being transported is the subject of a Special Investigations Unit probe.
The OPP on Wednesday announced the investigative agency invoked its mandate after being notified of the Monday evening incident at the Kenora District Jail.
According to a news release, officers were transporting a prisoner to the jail when Kenora OPP was contacted about an altercation.
The SIU is an independent, arms length agency that investigates incidents involving police.
