THUNDER BAY — A visitor from southern Ontario might have been going for a burger and fries, but instead found herself receiving a test on a breathalyzer early Wednesday morning.
After responding to reports of a suspected impaired driver, Thunder Bay Police found the 41-year-old woman asleep behind the wheel while her vehicle was parked in the drive-through lane at a restaurant on the 700 block of Memorial Ave.
When they woke her up, she exhibited multiple signs of impairment, so she was taken to police headquarters for testing and processing.
The resident of Windsor was charged with impaired driving and operation of a motor vehicle while having a blood alcohol concentration over the legal limit.
She's been released from custody with a future court date, but will have to find alternate transportation for the next seven days since her vehicle has been impounded.
