The city’s police force is asking drivers to slow down.

So is the OPP as a vehicle rollover on Highway 61 Wednesday morning became a four-vehicle incident.

A vehicle rolled into the ditch near the Thunder Bay International Airport shortly after 10 a.m.

As emergency crews responded, the traffic congestion and slippery conditions led to a vehicle smashing into the back of a responding fire truck.

The collision caused the fire truck to move into oncoming traffic and it collided with another vehicle.

An OPP officer on the scene said people need to adjust their driving to the weather conditions.

Officers with the Thunder Bay Police Service say they’ve responded to numerous collisions Wednesday morning.

While there have not been any serious injuries reported, Traffic Sgt. Glen Porter says speed has been a factor in at least three of the reported crashes.
