THUNDER BAY — Environment Canada issued a snowfall warning Monday for the city of Thunder Bay and Superior West.
Total snowfall amounts of 10 to 15 cm are expected in the city, with local amounts up to 25 cm in higher terrain southwest of Thunder Bay.
Strong wind will cause reduced visibility, especially during periods of heavy falling snow.
The anticipated snowfall is due to a low pressure system forecast to track east across northern Minnesota.
Light snow is expected to begin Monday morning before heavier snow starts.
It will then transition to light snow or flurries in the evening.
The wind will be northeast 30 km/h gusting to 50.
The current forecast calls for more snow later in the week.
