An unsafe plow truck was pulled off the road by city police during a traffic stop.

THUNDER BAY - A snowplow truck driver faces multiple charges after being pulled over by city police.

Thunder Bay Police pulled over a plow truck around 10 p.m. on Tuesday on Selkirk Street.

TBPS observed numerous violations on the commercial vehicle throughout the investigation, according to a Facebook post.

The driver allegedly gave the investigating officer a different name.

The truck was also deemed unfit for the road.

During the investigation, the officer discovered the true identity of the 35-year-old male and that he has four driving prohibitions and two Canada-wide prohibitions.

The driver is facing multiple charges, including prohibited operation, identity fraud, and a multitude of provincial offence notices.

A court date has been scheduled for the driver, and the plow/sander truck has been towed and will be held in impound for 45 days.
