THUNDER BAY — A winter weather advisory remains in effect for Thunder Bay.
Between 10 and 15 centimetres of snow are expected to fall on the city between Thursday and early Friday morning, with easterly wind gusts of 60 to 70 kilometres per hour in effect. The wind is expected to be at its strongest near the shores of Lake Superior.
Snowfall will be heavy at times, tapering off to flurries by Friday morning, reducing visibility for travellers. The highest snowfall totals will remain outside of Thunder Bay, including Cloud Bay and Kakabeka Falls, where a winter storm warning remains in effect. Those areas are expected to receive between 20 and 40 centimetres of snow.
