City police are investigating two stabbing incidents they believe could be linked.
Officials with the Thunder Bay Police Service say the first of two incidents was reported shortly after 3:30 a.m. Wednesday. Officers were stopped by a woman who said a man was bleeding in an apartment located in the 100 block of May Street.
Police then found a man on the floor of the south-side apartment with multiple stab wounds.
The 21-year-old victim was transported to the Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre where he was treated for non life threatening injuries.
Police say officers responded to a second stabbing incident shortly after 3:40 a.m. that same morning after receiving a 911 call.
That call led officers to a home in the 100 block of South Harold Street. Officers say they found the homeowner of a southside home in his
bathroom with multiple stab wounds to his neck.
Police say that man was also brought to the Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre where he was treated for non life threatening injuries.
Investigators have been working this case since early this morning and have determined that the two men sent to the hospital are known to each other and that these occurrences are connected.
Investigators also say that alcohol appears to have been a factor in this incident.
