THUNDER BAY — Repairs to a storm sewer forced traffic lane closures on North Algoma Street near Dawson Street on Monday.
The work, being undertaken by a contractor, is taking place on the east side of Algoma, between HMCS Griffon and the McVicar Creek bridge.
Because the project requires a large excavator, both northbound lanes are blocked off while northbound and southbound vehicles are diverted to single lanes on the southbound side of the road.
Traffic cones are in place to guide motorists.
A spokesperson for the sewer and water section said that, at this point, the work is expected to continue until Friday.
