THUNDER BAY – North Algoma Street will be fully closed starting on Thursday due to ongoing storm sewer work, the City of Thunder Bay advises.
The North Side street will be closed between St. George Avenue and Dawson Street beginning Thursday afternoon for work required to repair a storm sewer located near the intersection of North Algoma and Dawson.
Repairs that caused partial traffic lane closures on Monday uncovered additional work that required heavier equipment to address, the city said.
North- and southbound traffic on Algoma will be detoured to St. George Avenue and Dawson Street, the city said, adding motorists should expect delays in the area and are encouraged to reduce speeds.
The road closure is expected to last until Tuesday, Dec. 12.
