The 2010 Juno Award winner for Best Blues Album gave students at St. Patrick High School a lesson on the history of the blues guitar Thursday.
Jack de Keyzer was in the City as part of the Blues in the Schools Program. The program started in 2004 by the Thunder Bay Blues Society. Since then more than 12,000 students from school boards across the City have participated.
Murray Armstrong is the vice-president of the Thunder Bay Blues Society and he says Grammy award winners and many of the world's top blues musicians have performed for the students.
Armstrong says the artists love coming to perform for the students.
In between songs, de Keyzer explained the evolution of the blues guitar from Robert Johnson to Jimi Hendrix.
Armstrong adds that the program will continue again next school year.
