Students returning to Pope John Paul II after morning fire

Thunder Bay Fire Rescue quickly put out the fire and students are on their way back to class.

THUNDER BAY – A fire at Pope John Paul II School forced the evacuation of students to a nearby church.

According to a release issued by the Thunder Bay Catholic District School Board, crews from Thunder Bay Fire Rescue quickly doused the fire and have since the deemed the building safe for staff and students.

Buses are scheduled to return students to the school from St. Patrick Cathedral.
