Sunday concerts have kicked off at Chippewa Park

The Friends of Chippewa Park recommend bringing a chair, hat and bug spray.

THUNDER BAY – The free Sunday afternoon outdoor concerts saw their opening act on Sunday at 2 p.m.

“We are excited to have put together the best of Thunder Bay to perform on the stage located on the lake side of the main pavilion at Chippewa Park” said Friends President Lorraine Lortie in a media release.

“Thanks to the financial support of the City of Thunder Bay’s Recreation and Culture division we have been able to provide a rain or shine event each Sunday at one of the most popular parks in the city for over 20 years,” she said.

The first group to perform was Southern Comfort featuring rock and roll, swing, and rhythm and blues.

They will be followed in subsequent weeks by Robin Ranger on July 7, then Tommy Milestone Horricks on July 14.

A full schedule can be found on their website.
