Sunrise Records to celebrate official grand opening

THUNDER BAY, ON -- Sunrise Records has officially opened 80 stores across the country and is holding grand opening celebrations Sept. 30 and Oct. 1.

The Intercity Shopping Centre celebrations will include snacks, giveaways and special discounts for every customer.

With the official grand opening, Sunrise Records will also announce its first local artist contest.

The contest provides an opportunity for emerging artists to have their music distributed across the country in a two-tiered contest.

Bands and artists will enter through an online form and then enter a voting period.

From the top 10 most voted artists, a panel of Sunrise judges will determine a winner for a grand prize and a runner-up prize.

The grand prize includes the band or artist’s music pressed on 500 LPs and 500 CDs with nationwide distribution, a custom plaque and promotion through Sunrise channels.

The runner-up will receive the band or artist’s music on 500 CDs, vinyl or cassettes by local artists who do not have current label distribution.
