Sweet North Bakery closing one location

This news comes after the store was flooded in early July.

THUNDER BAY – The owners of Sweet North Bakery have decided not to continue running their store on Court Street.

This news comes after the Court Street store was flooded in early July and after Sweet North opened a third location on High Street.

“After 10 years on Court Street, we have decided not to renew our lease. Our current lease expires in August so that means that we will not be reopening,” they announced in a Facebook post.

“This is an emotional time for us, a lot of dear memories were made there over the years.”

The Facebook post said owners Erinn DeLorenzi and her husband Kris couldn’t have created the bakery without help from their boys.

“We can truly say that our family built The Sweet North together. This was a very difficult decision to make but we know it is the right one.”

Sweet North will be hosting a yard sale in August and will post information on Facebook when they have confirmed a date and time.

The drive-thru at 802 Fort William Rd. and the bake shop at 106 High St. will both remain open.

“Thank you Thunder Bay for the beautiful memories. Cheers to making many more,” the Facebook post said.
