HAMILTON -- A rematch with the Ontario Tech Ridgebacks is on the horizon for the Lakehead Thunderwolves.

This time, it's the playoffs.

Mike Demagus hit a late three-pointer on Saturday night to break a 76-76 deadlock and the McMaster Marauders went on to defeat the Thunderwolves 81-76 in the regular-season finale for both teams.

The loss dropped LU into the 12th and final playoff spot in the OUA, meaning the T-Wolves will take on the Ridgebacks on the road on Wednesday night in a win-or-go-home one-game playoff.

Lakehead (10-12) could have climbed into ninth place with a win.

Harold Santacruz (22) and Nathan Bilamu (21) each cracked 20 points for Lakehead. The Marauders were led by Tyler Garcia's 15-point effort, one of four players in double digits for McMaster (12-10).

Lakehead dropped an 85-79 decision to Ontario Tech at home on Feb. 10. The Ridgebacks were ranked No. 9 in the nation at the time, but have since climbed to No. 7.
