T-Wolves toppled by Queen's

Lakehead falls to 2-7 after falling 59-41 on the road on Saturday night.

KINGSTON – Lakehead’s winning ways didn’t last long.

A night after snapping a five-game losing streak against the Ontario Tech Ridgebacks, the T-Wolves came up short against the Queen’s Gaels, falling 59-41 to fall to 2-7 on the season.

Sara Azzolina led the Wolves with 10 points, the lone Lakehead player to hit double-digits in the matinee affair.

Paula Lopez had seven points and three steals and Kelly Anne-Coulombe had six points and a dozen rebounds.

Katrina Renon had a game-high 20 points to go with 13 boards, her double-double leading the way for the Gaels.

Brooke Hussey came off the bench to score 13 points for Queen’s, who improved to 6-2 wit the win.

Lakehead returns home next weekend for games against Laurier and No. 5 Carleton.

Game time is 6 p.m. on Friday and Saturday night at the C.J. Sanders Fieldhouse.
