The much-anticipated opening of Target’s Thunder Bay store is expected to happen on July 16.
The Financial Post on Thursday reported the company plans to open 20 stores across Canada on that day, including its location at Intercity Shopping Centre.
“When we were travelling across the country preparing to open the stores, the one thing we heard loud and clear was people were looking for the same experience they get when they cross the border and shop Target in the U.S.,” said company spokeswoman Lisa Gibson.
The former Zellers location in Intercity Shopping Centre has been completely renovated inside and out to include clean, wide aisles, said Gibson.
“It’s a very clutter-free shopping experience,” she added.
The store is expected to employ about 150 people.
