Teen victim identified in fatal train collision in Kenora

Ontario Provincial Police say 18-year-old Tyrease Payash of Kenora died after being struck by a train Wednesday afternoon.

KENORA, Ont. - The victim of a fatal train collision in Kenora has been identified as an 18-year-old male.

The Ontario Provincial Police and the Canadian Pacific Railway Police are investigating after receiving reports that a person was struck by a Canadian Pacific Railway train just after 5 a.m. on Wednesday in the Norman area of Kenora.

In a media release issued on Thursday, OPP identified the victim as Tyrease Payash, 18, of Kenora.

The investigation is ongoing and anyone with information that could assist investigators is asked to contact Kenora OPP at 807-548-5534 or 1-888-310-1122.
