Terrace Bay council has nominated Coun. Jody Davis to be appointed as Mayor.
This follows the surprise resignation of longtime Mayor Mike King.
King stepped down last week over a dispute with council on how to handle an MPAC appeal by the owner of the local pulp mill.
Davis' council position will be declared vacant and a member of the public will be sought to finish the one-year remaining on the term of council.
