This Old Barn is now allowed to reopen.
The restaurant was ordered closed by the Thunder Bay District Health Unit after an outbreak of Norovirus on May 13. The discovery of the virus was made after patrons of This Old Barn became ill after allegedly eating there.
The owner of the eatery has complied with all requirements, health unit officials say.
Water samples confirmed the presence of Norovirus, which causes nausea, vomiting and diarrhea.
As a result, the owner is drilling a new well and has upgraded the water treatment system.
