THUNDER BAY - Three individuals charged in connection to a drug seizure last October are scheduled to reappear in court in early July.

Crown attorney Ronald Poirier spoke on the matters of Meleek Dannor Munroe-Daley, Blake Thomas Sheppard-Martinez and Lenaya Forest Roundhead who have all been charged with possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking on Monday, April 27 in Thunder Bay court.

As the Ontario Court of Justice has reduced operations for individuals with in-person court appearances scheduled between March 16 and May 29, the court proceedings for the three accused was adjourned for 10 weeks by Justice Chantal Brochu.

Munroe-Daley, Shepard-Martinez and Roundhead came to police attention following a drug seizure in October 2019.

Police responded to a disturbance call in the 700-block of Pacific Avenue just after 10 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 27, according to a previous Thunder Bay police media release.

When officers knocked on the door of the residence they witnessed a window opening on the upper level of the home and a clear bag being thrown to the ground.

The substance in the bag was believed to be cocaine. Officers also seized more than $8,000 in Canadian currency from the same room where the suspected drugs were thrown from.

Police say the estimated street value of the seized drugs was approximately $10,000.

Munroe-Daley and Sheppard-Martinez are both from the Greater Toronto Area.
