THUNDER BAY — The OPP diverted a load of drugs from going to a First Nation during a traffic stop on Thursday.
It happened along Hwy 527, where members of the OPP's community street crime units and the joint forces gun and gangs enforcement team seized 47 grams of suspected crack cocaine, one cellphone and a spring-loaded knife.
The three people in the car were headed to Armstrong and Whitesand First Nation and are suspected of going to those locations to traffic the illicit drugs.
A 37-year-old female and 40-year-old male from Whitesand First Nation are both charged with possession, and a 30-year-old from Quebec is facing trafficking charges along with breaching probation and other offences.
The accused individuals were held in custody for a bail hearing.
