Three sent to hospital after multi-vehicle Expressway crash

THUNDER BAY – Three people were taken to hospital after a multi-vehicle crash on the Thunder Bay Expressway.

The three-vehicle collision occurred shortly before 3 p.m. Tuesday afternoon on the section of highway between Oliver Road and John Street.

OPP provincial Const. Diana Cole said two vehicles initially made contact before one of those struck a third.

Two vehicles, a Hummer and taxi van, appeared to suffer extensive damage. The third, a sedan, suffered only minor damage.

The injuries are reported to be non-life threatening.
