Thunder at the Bay a highlight for car enthusiasts (7 photos)

Over 300 cars flocked to the CLE Grounds throughout the weekend

THUNDER BAY - New and classic cars rolled onto to the Canadian Lakehead Exhibition Grounds for the fourth annual Thunder at the Bay automobile show.

In total, 182 cars took part on Saturday, with an estimated 300 registered for the weekend.

Organizer Kevin Merkley says the car show features a wide variety of activities and contest that make it the city's biggest car show.

"Having the burn out contest and the engine contest gives a whole different feel to simply a car show," Merkley said.

The event's charity aspect featured a 50/50 ticket sale for the Boys and Girls Club, and a Fill-the-Jeep campaign for the Giant Hearts of Thunder Bay.

Merkley said the event is a rendezvous for all of the car club's throughout the city.
