THUNDER BAY — The Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Foundation's 50/50 draw continues to roll out millionaires.
For the 11th consecutive month, when the draw is held this Friday, someone will win a grand prize of over $1 million.
As of late afternoon Wednesday, the prize stood at $1,158,000.
The biggest jackpot in the draw's history was just under $4 million, in December 2023.
Glenn Craig, president and CEO of the hospital foundation, said he's been told the Thunder Bay 50/50 is the largest monthly draw of its kind in Canada.
Proceeds go toward purchasing vital equipment for Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre and for its programs elsewhere in Northwestern Ontario.
"It has done great things, allowed us to do great things for the hospital," Craig said Wednesday.
"I'm hoping people are seeing the impact at the hospital, but I think it's also the community. Over the last few months, I've run into some of our previous winners, and the impact it has on their lives is, you know, equally significant. So I think it really is winners all around."
Sales for the July draw close at 11:59 pm on July 25.
