THUNDER BAY — Firefighters in Thunder Bay were called to a home on Northern Ave. Tuesday morning.
According to a media release sent just after noon on Tuesday, they were called about a structural fire at the address on the city’s south side at 7 a.m.
Thunder Bay Fire Rescue said the homeowner had tried to put the fire out themselves before fire crews arrived. Once on scene, the first responding firefighters were able to get the fire quickly under control.
No one was hurt, the fire department said.
In their release, fire officials also reminded the public that working smoke detectors are required by law.
