Thunder Bay man arrested after seizure of $270,000 worth of drugs

Police searched a residence in the 300s block of High Street North on Wednesday evening.

THUNDER BAY — A Thunder Bay man faces multiple charges after city police searched a north-side home and found more than a quarter of a million dollars worth of drugs.

Officers executed a search warrant Wednesday evening at a residence in the 300s block of High Street North.

The warrant was obtained as a result of an ongoing investigation into drug trafficking at that location.

Police searched the home and located suspected hydromorphone tablets, hydromorphone, oxycodone tablets, morphine tablets, cocaine, and paraphernalia consistent with trafficking.

The drugs have an estimated street value of $270,000.

Evan Robert Nummikoski, 27, is charged with:

  • possession of cocaine for trafficking
  • possession of hydromorphone for trafficking
  • possession of morphine for trafficking
  • possession of oxycodone for trafficking
  • possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000

Nummikoski appeared in bail court on Thursday and was remanded into custody with a future appearance date.
