THUNDER BAY – The Thunder Bay Museum is reopening to the public later this month, but with strict COVID-19 precautions in place.

Starting on June 29, the public will be allowed back inside the Donald Street landmark, but all visits are appointment only, including family groups, volunteers and researchers, to control numbers inside the building.

Anyone entering the facility will be asked to take a pre-screening questionnaire. Masks will be mandatory, as will physical distancing measures. A hand sanitizing station will be in place and there will be a constant cleaning of commonly touched surfaces.

Interactive displays will be removed or covered and benches will be removed or blocked.

Free Tuesdays are postponed until further notice and only the washroom on the first floor will be open to the public.

Patrons wishing to access the second and third floor will have to do so by elevator and any gift shop transaction will have to be made with a debit or credit card.

To make an appointment, phone 623-0801 or email reception@thunderbaymuseum.com.
