THUNDER BAY — Dozens of current and former city police officers paid their respects to Craig Town.

A funeral was held Wednesday at St. Patrick's Cathedral for Town, a Thunder Bay Police Service officer who survived being shot while in the line of duty in 1991 and passed away earlier this month at the age of 65.

A large group of current and retired sworn and civilian officers formed up outside the cathedral before the service.

Town had been honoured by Thunder Bay police earlier this year during an exemplary service awards ceremony, where he received his 30-year bar.

He is survived by his wife of 36 years and two children.
