THUNDER BAY -- The Thunder Bay office of the Canadian Red Cross will process financial donations to help people affected by devastating flooding in Quebec, Ontario,  BC and New Brunswick.

Donations can be designated either for the Red Cross response in Quebec specifically—where the flooding has been particularly devastating—or for wherever the help is most needed in any of the affected regions across Canada.

Andrena Toth, district manager for the Red Cross in Thunder Bay, says the local office has already received a number of inquiries from residents wanting to help.

"We're really happy to see that the support from the community has already started. If the past holds true, Thunder Bay generally steps up for responses like this, and I'm always overwhelmed by the support from the community," Toth told Tbnewswatch in an interview Tuesday.

She said donations can be made in several ways, including in person at the Thunder Bay Red Cross office at 1145 Barton Street.  Cash, cheques or credit cards are accepted.

All contributions should be earmarked for The Spring Floods Appeal.

Donors may also give through the Canadian Red Cross website or toll-free via telephone.

In addition to collecting money for the relief program, Red Cross local volunteers have been activated across the country to provide a variety of services on-site.
