Thunder Bay resident wins $250,000 with Instant Crossword Deluxe

Thunder Bay resident is celebrating a third win with Instant Crossword
William Shewchuk of Thunder Bay

TORONTO -- A Thunder Bay man is a three-time Instant Crossword winner.

William Shewchuk of Thunder Bay has been a lottery player for decades, has won twice before.

"I won $50,000 in 2001 and again in 2009 – both with instant Crossword," he shared while at the OLG Prize Centre in Toronto to pick up his winnings. "I asked my wife to double check my ticket because I thought I won $100. She scanned it using the OLG App and saw the Big Winner screen – we were so surprised!"

William said this win feels like the real deal now that he has his cheque in hand.

“This is my third big win, I feel like a professional Crossword winner – like I’m ‘Captain Crossword,’" He laughed.

William plans to do some work around the house and will consider purchasing a new vehicle.

The winning ticket was purchased at Mac's on Waterloo Street in Thunder Bay.
