THUNDER BAY – Sweet G’s Family Restaurant has a new name.
The restaurant's owners posted a poll on Facebook on July 11 to create a new name that will mark their fresh start.
Active for seven days, the poll included the following options for a new name: ‘The Diner on Dawson,’ ‘Cornerstone Café,’ ‘Dawson Diner,’ or ‘Ella Rae’s Family Restaurant.'
In a recent Facebook post, the restaurant announced that after close to 2,500 votes, the new name has been chosen: Dawson Diner.
The owners are thrilled to welcome everyone to Dawson Diner when the restaurant at 1889 Dawson Rd. reopens after they finish rebuilding after the fire that happened in January.
“We look forward to having the opportunity to serve you all soon. We would also like to send out a heartfelt thanks to all of you for the outpouring of support we have received through your votes and best wishes.
