TORONTO – Martha Burgsteden from Thunder Bay is celebrating after winning a $50,000-second place prize in the March 4, 2020 draw.

Burgsteden, a 63-year-old married mother, has been playing the lottery for two decades.

Burgsteden said she checked her ticket using the Ticket Checker at the store. "I thought I won $50 and tucked it away – I didn't see the extra zeroes! When the jackpot was at $70 million, I thought I'd spend my $50 on tickets but when the store clerk checked my ticket, they said I already won big!"

Burgsteden plans to save and enjoy retirement.

The winning ticket was purchased at Metro on River Street in Thunder Bay.
