THUNDER BAY — The city’s first baby of the year arrived early in the afternoon on New Year’s Day.

It’s a girl!

Freya Marinoff was born at 1:52 p.m. on Wednesday to parents Kescia Yeomans and Noel Marinoff at Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre.

Their first daughter weighed seven pounds, six ounces and measured 20 inches tall.

According to a release issued on Thursday by the hospital, both baby and mother are doing well.
