LAS VEGAS – Thunder Bay’s Alex Pineau is getting a little NHL-style experience under his belt this week.

The Brown University defenceman is one of 44 players, and one of 14 defencemen, invited to this week’s Vegas Golden Knights development camp.

Pineau, a graduate of the Thunder Bay Kings program, was a second-team All-Ivy player as a freshman at Brown, leading all blue-liners on the team with 15 points. His seven goals were second on the team.

Prior to arriving at Brown, he spent the 2022-23 season with the USHL’s Des Moines Buccanneers and before that split time between the CCHL and the NAHL.

The 6-foot-3 21-year-old played one game with the Thunder Bay North Stars in 2019-20.

The Golden Knights camp, which features top draft picks and other prospects, opened on Monday and concludes on Saturday at City National Arena in Las Vegas.
