THUNDER BAY – The offence just never got going.

At least not enough to solve Beckett Langkow.

The Ontario Tech goaltender stopped all 39 shots he faced on Friday night, blanking the Lakehead Thunderwolves 3-0 in the pre-Christmas finale for the visiting T-Wolves.

Cullen McLean gave the Ridgebacks all the offence they’d need, beating Carson Cherepak at 18:09 of the opening period.

The two teams failed to score in the second.

Then, clinging to a 1-0 lead in the third, Ludovic Dufort doubled the Ontario Tech lead. Andrew Suriyuth added an insurance marker in the final minute of regulation, scoring shorthanded into the empty net.

Cherepak made 16 saves in taking the loss between the pipes for LU, who don’t return to action until the new year.

Lakehead dropped to 8-6-1 with the loss while UOIT improved to 10-4-2.
